HURTADO CRUCHAGA, Alberto: Sel. Jesuit, * 22.1. 1901 in Chile, † 18.8. 1952 in Santiago de Chile, Fest: 18.8. - In Chile trat Cr. 1923 in den Jesuitenorden ein. Von Anfang an widmete er sich mit Leidenschaft dem Sozialapostolat. Er begründete in Chile mehrere Sozialwerke, das bedeutendste Sozialwerk war die christliche Bewegung "El Hogar de Christo" - "Das Heim Christi". Papst Johannes Paul II. sprach ihn am 16. Oktober 1994 selig. Dabei sagte er: "Er war ein großer Erzieher seines Volkes, ein unermüdlicher Apostel".
