Martin Heidegger's Handbook on Thinking tries to focus on Heidegger's thinking primarily in terms of its relation to the history of thought. The first four sections are therefore devoted to Heidegger's relationship to the philosophers or philosophical currents who shaped his thinking. The fifth section is devoted to Heidegger's relationship to poetry and art, the sixth to politics. The seventh section is to systematically and in alphabetical order discuss the words that are fundamental to Heidegger's thinking and create a register of their occurrence. The last two sections are devoted to the reception of Heidegger's thinking: the eighth section concerns the most important modern thinkers, to whom Heidegger owes a lot, the last section is primarily devoted to the lasting influence of Heidegger on the philosophical discussion today, especially his enormous influence outside of Europe .
All contributions will appear separately in the form of a monograph.
The handbook does not want to be a work of 'Heidegger Philology', rather it seeks to rethink the history of thought from the horizon of Heidegger's questions to the latter. The international team of authors includes many of the leading experts on Heidegger's thinking from the United States to Japan.
All contributions appear individually as monographs. The authors are an international team of leading experts on the subject. Most of the volumes will be written in German. As an exception, a few volumes will be written in English or French. The individual volumes appear in the order in which they were completed and can be purchased individually.
