Challenges and PerspectivesFrom the introduction:The demand for freedom in teaching and research describes a positive and progressive scientific culture with which all universities and research institutes identify. In reality, however, it is characterized by restrictions. A merciless battle has broken out within the faculties. Everyone builds a niche for himself, like a gardener who sows the seeds in a certain way, tends his flowers according to a certain method and mercilessly weeds the supposed weeds so that they do not undermine and contaminate their own cultivation. Innovations are perceived as a danger and their initiators are chased away like skunks.
Anyone who breaks new ground will have to accept being viewed as an outsider and dilettante or excluded as a dreamer. The so-called science establishment, which receives massive state and private funding, makes a massive contribution to the fact that innovative minds are observed with eagle eyes and ultimately receive no financial support for the development of their ideas. Current science is subject to additional restrictions resulting from large-scale projects and collaborative research. ...
