Edith Stein was the philosopher who not only lived with philosophy, but managed to fully integrate it into her life. Philosophical questions for her, as for Socrates, St. Augustine and other great thinkers of the past, were not only an intellectual puzzle but an essential part of discovering the meaning of man's life. The volume is the result of international cooperation between scholars whose interests and passions are related either to phenomenology or to the life and philosophy of Edith Stein. It consists of four parts, each reflecting an important feature of Stein's philosophy or a trait of her method of thinking: philosophical encounters, ontological investigations, theological reflection, society. The authors intent to encourage the readers to reflect upon Edith Stein life and work and become inspired by the example of the great female thinker from Wrocław.
