 In general, the present book is devoted to the common problem area of contemporary theology and philosophy, but the specific reason for the contributions here is given by the parallelism in the appearance of the encyclical Fides et Ratio by Pope St. John Paul II and the canonization of Edith Stein ( Co-Patroness of Europe) by the same holy Pope. The authors of the volume reflect on the common thinking of these two saints of the 20th century, on their philosophical engagement in Christian philosophy, as well as on today's possibilities of common thinking of philosophy and theology.
