 Günther Neumann, who has a doctorate in mathematics and philosophy, has earned an international reputation both as a Heidegger researcher and editor and through his studies on Leibniz. Professor Neumann researched and taught in various fields of physics and philosophy as well as on the foundation of the sciences. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Heidegger Yearbook and Heidegger Studies.
 The thematic area of this contribution is Heidegger's thinking conversation on his path with Leibniz, which is determined by immanent changes. According to Heidegger's way of thinking, three main phases of his Leibniz reception are distinguished: 1. reception in the context of the fundamental ontology of being and time (1927), 2. reception in the transition to event-based thinking in the 1930s and 3. reception on the basis the unfolded history of being.
