Dr. Markus Fiedler Imam Ali and true Islam

101 pages, paperback

In view of the different currents in Islam, the question of true Islam arises. Can one work out an original or “true Islam” that can be differentiated from other interpretations or falsifications? This question can be described as one of the most important questions in the debate about "Islam". Any interpretation of religion touches on this issue. Closely connected with the search for “true Islam” appears the attempt to return to the unadulterated origins of this religion. This book is based on the analysis of the social conditions in Mecca before the appearance of Islam and the changes brought about by the Prophet Muhammad. It becomes clear that two different lines already existed in Islam at the time of the Prophet Muhammad. The Koran has both an individual and a collective component. It is aimed at all people - regardless of skin color, whether rich or poor (individual component). But it also gives people the mandate to work for justice in the world (collective component). This book illustrates this point of view, according to which Islam was originally also a revolutionary movement in the sense of Muhammad and Ali, but which was then corrupted by opportunistic elements that allowed themselves to be seduced by power and wealth. The aim is to show how Imam Ali, on the other hand - based on the state of the Prophet - tried to restore social justice against some resistance during his caliphate. However, this affected the interests of those who profited from social injustice, which ultimately led to uprisings and his overthrow. The Ummayyad and Abbasid dynasties followed, and to this day Islam has been falsified into a religion of the rich and powerful and overlaid by false traditions. So this book inspires a new way of looking at this religion.
