For some years now, a renewed attempt at a productive confrontation between critical theory and philosophical anthropology has been observed. Taking into account the hidden anthropology of recent French political philosophy, the present book radicalizes this approach towards a recognition of the body and primary processes. In the context of the global epidemic in which it originated, it has become increasingly plausible that the focus of the confrontation lies in biopolitics as the core of the political. In addition to a few articles that have already been published, which have been revised for inclusion in this book project, the volume mainly consists of unpublished texts, all of which focus on this theoretical-practical intention. Starting from the call to think beyond the suspicion of anthropology, the attempt is made to take the confrontation of critical theory with philosophical anthropology to extremes, so that critical theory does not lose the impulses and means of knowledge that it used in the transition from its first period the program of 1937) to the second (the dialectic of the Enlightenment) and which are rather in the background in the drafts of their newer representatives. The last chapters are intended as a contribution to this prospective application. It could well be the case that philosophical anthropology by no means comes down to the dog, but proves to be an indispensable reference point in the philosophy of history despite the prevailing dog weather.
